What Does an SD6C12 Control Valve Do?

An SD6C12 control valve is the electronic valve that sets how much refrigerant a variable-displacement compressor delivers. A signal from the A/C control unit operates the valve’s coil, and the valve adjusts compressor output to match the cooling demand, so the cabin holds its temperature without the compressor running at full load.

How Is Every CL-3005 Control Valve Tested Before Shipment?

Every CL-3005 is tested before it is packed, not a sample from the batch. The checks run in stages, and each one stops a different kind of problem from reaching your customers.

Incoming Parts

Before assembly we inspect the valve body, core, stem, coil, O-rings and springs. A weak spring or a damaged O-ring found here never becomes a valve that leaks or regulates badly after it is fitted.

Assembly

During assembly we check that the core moves freely, the assembly height is correct and the O-rings sit properly. On CL-3005 this matters for the three O-rings, Ø13.2, Ø16 and Ø20 mm, which seal the brass-coloured cartridge inside the compressor. A ring that sits wrong will leak once the system is under pressure.

Electrical Tests on the Finished Valve

Each finished valve is tested for coil resistance and insulation, and for diode polarity where the valve has one. These tests find coil faults that cannot be seen from the outside and would leave the valve unable to respond to the A/C control signal.

Function Tests on the Finished Valve

We then check actuation, energizing response and sticking, plus leakage, flow and pressure response for this valve type. These show whether the valve regulates compressor output the way it should once it is in the car.

When a Valve Fails a Check

A valve that fails any check is set aside, then reworked and retested or rejected. If the same fault appears again, we review the whole batch, not just the single valve. The aim is that faults are found on our line, not by your customers.
